It was a welcome change to be able to use the field again, dry?,
no cow shit?, woohoo.
Following the usual tent erecting ritual, or is it debacle, it
was, of course off to the bar. Friday night was a pretty laid
back affair with about 80 folk on site, being able to sit at yer
tent enjoying the last rays of the sun meant that the barn was
sparsley populated with jiggers until late on in the evening.
This is quite an intimate wee rally, lots of regulars and a great
friendly atmosphere, maybe that's why we keep comin' back ;-)
As usual the grub was up to par, thanks to the now legendary
farm cooking. If ye come to this rally ye've got to try the lamb
curry, just the right thing to fill ye up before partaking in
large quantities of JD.
The outbuildings with lots of tables and chairs means that you
can sit about blethering and meeting up with mates and still listen
to the music in the barn, as such I was totally oblivious to "The
Joshua Four" but "Chil" were good, top marks from
me for playing "Powder finger" and makin' me hoarse.
Saturday, hangover, shit, gotta get ready for the Demo, uuugh,
er, ten coffees and four bacon rolls please, er and a huge slab
of home made chocolate cake, sorted.
Saturday night's entertainment started with "Shackled"
who tramped out some thrash numbers, followed by "Deaf Heights
Three" , true to form the MAG tried some different music,
which in my opinion was good but the three piece just wasn't cutting
through, a full kit, a bass, box, triangle and washboard and the
place would have been jumping.
Regulars Makossa followed with some reggae and ska(ish) numbers
then Spank the Plank with covers, but by this time I'd buggered
off to the bonfire tae get a heat.
Another Edinburgh MAG chalked up, throughly enjoyed meself, weather
was a bonus, but now I've got to go service two bikes, replace
a knackered shock and recover for the Farmyard next week
